YANGON, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's Union Election Commission has set June 18 for starting to submit overseas voters' lists to respective embassies for entering parliamentary by-election scheduled for Nov. 3 this year.

According to the notification from the commission late Thursday, the closing date is set for July 9.

The by-election is to fill vacant seats in the parliament. List of parliament representative candidates will be announced on Aug. 6 and the elected candidates list will be announced from Nov. 4 to 6, the statement added.

There are a total of 13 vacant parliamentary seats -- four with the House of Representative (Lower House), one with the House of Nationalities (Upper House) and eight with the state parliaments.

It will be the first parliamentary by-election after U Win Myint was elected as new President.

In the last general election on Nov. 8, 2015, the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) won an absolute majority of the parliamentary seats.
