OSLO, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Norway's Prime Minister Erna Solberg said the United States loses influence in the world after President Donald Trump pulled back support of a previously-approved Group of Seven (G7) summit statement, public broadcaster NRK reported Sunday.

"The United States loses political influence in the rest of the world, and they also lose position as a centerpiece in efforts to find global joint mechanisms and set the agenda," said Solberg, who had been invited to attend the G7 summit in Quebec, Canada.

However, the United States will be a powerful country to which the rest of the world must relate, she told NRK.

"As a country, the United States is big and heavy. It is the world's richest country, world's biggest military power, and it is one of world's absolutely most innovative countries," Solberg said.

According to the Norwegian prime minister, the United States will, through its technology and its solutions and throughout the vast American population, "in any case be a heavy country in all international processes".

"However, this administration that is in Washington now has sidetracked itself from this a bit," Solberg said.

Trump said on Saturday that he has instructed U.S. representatives not to endorse the joint communique released at the end of the G7 summit.

"Based on Justin's false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!" Trump tweeted from on board Air Force One, just hours after leaving the G7 summit.
