JAKARTA, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Male and female players of Indonesian volleyball squads have targeted to post the third position in the Asian Games this year, association disclosed.
Chairman of the volleyball Indonesian association commissioner (retired) Imam Sudjarwo said that the target was unveiled based on the map of the strenght of opponents in the regional sport event.
The chairman admitted that Indonesian volleyball players will face strong opponents from scores of countries.
"In this upcoming Asian Games we will play strong teams, we have set a realistic target," he said.
Among the Indonesian team opponents are the teams from China, Japan, South Korea, according to the association.
"After undertaking evaluation, we target to place the third rank for both men and women teams," he was quoted by Tempo media as saying.
To boost preparation competing in the Games, the teams would have some friendly matches in China and South Korea until one month before the Asiad, according to the association.
