JINAN, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Ticket prices will be reduced at a complex devoted to the memory of Chinese philosopher Confucius in east China's Shandong Province, authorities said Wednesday.

From June 1, ticket price for the three sites in the complex will be reduced from 150 yuan (23.4 U.S. dollars) to 140 yuan and will be valid for multiple entries in a seven-day period, according to Shandong provincial price bureau.

The Confucius Temple, the Kong Family Mansion and the Confucius Cemetery in Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius (551 B.C.-479 B.C.), are a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Confucius, an educator and philosopher, founded Confucianism, a school of thought that is deeply influential. He was also the first person to set up private school in China and enroll students from across society.
