MANAMA, June 29 (Xinhua) -- The 42nd World Heritage Committee decided Friday to inscribe three cultural sites from Kenya, Oman and Saudi Arabia on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List.

The three sites are the Thimlich Ohinga archeological site situated northwest of the Kenyan town of Migori, the Ancient City of Qalhat on the eastern coast of Oman, and the Saudi-proposed Al-Ahsa Oasis in the eastern Arabian Peninsula.

A total of 30 wonders across the world have been nominated to run for inclusion in the World Heritage List this year, including five natural sites, 22 cultural sites and three mixed ones.

The sites will be examined one by one during the 42nd session of the committee, held in Bahrain's capital Manama from June 24 to July 4.

Initiated in 1972, the World Heritage List has registered more than 1,000 wonders across the globe, 52 of which are in China.
