DAMASCUS, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Israel launched missiles on a Syrian military base in the country's northern province of Aleppo on Sunday, state news agency SANA reported.
The Israeli missiles hit a military base north of the al-Nayrab air base in Aleppo, said the report, adding that the attack caused damages only.
The state news agency charged that the Israeli attack came as an Israeli response to the military progress in the south, where the Syrian army has succeeded to capture much of Daraa province in southern Syria, including rebel-held areas near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
