SOFIA, July 26 (Xinhua) -- The Bulgarian Parliament adopted measures against football hooliganism, which was defined as a crime on Thursday.

The bill, which was tabled by several parliamentary groups, defined the concept of sport hooliganism as a crime.

Football hooliganism, according to the law, includes carrying flags, posters, or banners with texts, images, abbreviations, or symbols inciting hatred or violence, containing offensive language or embodying unlawful ideologies and refusing to execute an order of the persons responsible for the event.

These acts can be sanctioned by a fine of BGN 1,000 (about 600 USD) to 2,000 (about 1,200 USD) and a ban from sporting events in the country and abroad for a period of one to two years.

According to the adopted changes, only persons and vehicles with a right of access or an ID card will be admitted to sports events. The MPs prohibited the sale and supply of alcoholic beverages at sports venues on the day of the event.
