      Vietnamese airlines to launch Asian routes from central province

      HANOI, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese air carriers will open international flights from central Binh Dinh province to Asian destinations next year, including China, Japan, South Korea and Thailand, local media reported on Monday.

      The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, budget airline Vietjet Air and newly-established Bamboo Airways will launch international routes in 2019 from Phu Cat Airport in Binh Dinh which received 3.4 million local and foreign visitors in the first nine months of this year, up 11 percent on-year, Vietnam News Agency reported.

      According to Vietnam's Transport Ministry, the Vietnamese aviation market's annual growth rate will be 16 percent from now to 2020, and 8 percent in the 2020-2030 period. Vietnamese carriers are expected to serve 64 million passengers by 2020 and 131 million passengers by 2030.

      Vietnam's aviation industry served 41.3 million passengers in the first 10 months of this year, up 12.2 percent on-year, and transported 330,500 tons of cargoes, up 21.1 percent, according to the General Statistics Office.
